I am of the same opinion. I am up in my personal account 5.8%, fully invested. There may be another run up, but we are getting rich. I was looking at selling some calls but the sell numbers are not big enough for a 10% drop. Probably going to liquidate some .
I'm bullish - just not as bullish as I was in January with the market drop. I still expect that Putin will agitate the market some more over the next few weeks - perhaps providing another buying opportunity. So far this year, I'm up 5% vs the s&p up 1.75%.
I went to UrbanBaby because I wanted to know how the obsessive Moms got to be obsessive. For the most part, they are both hen houses with Urbanbaby populated with poulets and CC with declining layers.
I changed my picture to show a guy with a cake and a file inside the cake. I'm not sure if the picture can be seen, but I think its pretty funny nevertheless.

Yeah - that happened to me a number of times and I couldn't post for a while. I then posted a few comments under another name but after a while, they figured out I had two usernames and could no longer use the second.
Sure you can. Get another dns box and computer. But why? Aren't your kids older now? I doubt anyone missed me when I was kicked off, and I was on since 2003. Time for you to move on,
Putin is not an idiot but he is an ego maniac who wants to restore the soviet empire. He knows the US won't do anything because we have no national interests there. I hope Obama restores the missile shield that he gutted for no reason.
If you look at the oscars thread I said i was tired of the movies reminding everyone that blacks are victims. I pointed out that we have a black president and hollywood should not be reinforcing negative attitudes of blacks that they are victims. frazzle1 didn't like that so i explained further. Mainelonghorn apparently didn't like my opinion so she jailed me. i asked for a copy of the terms of service which specifically say " It's fine to disagree with opinions, ideas, and facts, but always with respect for the other person." I wasn't disrespectful to any poster she just didn't like my opinion or that i defended it. I asked specifically what was wrong with my post but she just replied again, you can't do that. Mainelonghorn thinks the forum belongs to her. I wish there was some appeals process to get rid of mainlonghorn. she is horrible.
Putin is not like The Idiot. Putin doesn't need the Ukraine anymore than USA needed Afghanistan or Iraq. Why do you (Putine, Bush) want own it (the Ukraine, Iraq, Afghan,)when you can collect payments forever ?

Nat gas was up a lot earlier in the morning and then dropped for a loss. WTI is still up but not significantly. Maybe the market is telling us Putin will stop with crimea and not take the whole country.
I remember when people laughed at the Republican candidate for President when he said Russia was our biggest enemy. I knew he was right then and now Putin is showing it.
"Boulevard du Temple", a daguerreotype made by Louis Daguerre in 1838, is generally accepted as the earliest photograph to include people. It is a view of a busy street, but because the exposure time was at least ten minutes the moving traffic left no trace. Only the two men near the bottom left corner, one apparently having his boots polished by the other, stayed in one place long enough to be visible."
I wanted to make sure I did not violate anyone's copyright by using a picture someone else created recently. The copyright on that picture is in the public domain so I decided to use it. Supposedly, the picture is actually the reverse image of what the camera was pointing towards, but they are not sure.
Missed the low this morning. I was thinking about covering the short on SCTY. Picked up BGS on its low. BGS has been a dog for me and I need to average down. Come-on, everyone east of the Rockies should be eating Cream of Wheat/Rice/Grits with half-n-half, cinnamon-brings on found memories of Mom.
Is it that low for SCTY>? I'd think it would be higher, since my entry was 76 less than a couple of weeks ago. This is a momentum stock with a lot of disruptive technology. I am more worried about being called. Quarterly this week after a postponment.
In the real world of investing and even more so with trading, most people make money over a long time period, not with long odds but with an "edge". A lottery ticket is a low odds with high payout gamble and most people are losers. The options seller has a huge edge over the buyer as can be seen with the fact that most options expire worthless. For most people, the more they trade, the more they lose. With what I described below with selling options, I actually make more the more I trade - consistently year after year.
I gotta become more familiar with options. Ordered The Street, Jon & Peter Najarin's book, How We Make Money in Options. I have a book that bro gave to me, but it is an advance book.
Met a paramutual dog player when I was repairing bank machines. He said, "You don't make money on the favorites with low odds. You make money on the long odds. "

Not setup for calls or puts. I like to be paid rather having to pay, hence the covered calls. If the price drops, I simply buy the call, buy-to-close, and reoption if I think a further drop. My call option 22marSCTY85 for $6.60 was sold at Fridays's opening. This is +/- 8.6% to my $76. IMO, not a bad risk spread.
Of course if you weren't too concerned with potential losses, you could have just bought the calls or the call spread. When the market dropped the > 5% a while ago, I just bought call spreads. If the market drops 10%, I may only buy calls if I think the market isn't going to drop any further. There are an infinite number of ways of gambling using options as you're aware - butterflys, condors, calendar spreads, etc. - the more ways to play - the more ways to lose!
I don't know whether the market is going up or down. It may be fairly valued but it is certainly more risky than a year ago as the s&p is higher than then. I was concerned with a potential drop of 10%. This is an example of what I did near the beginning of January when for example qqq was around 88.5:
1. Bought QQQ 3/22 68 calls = 20.52
2. Sold qqq 3/22 94 calls = 1.02
3. Bought qqq 3/22 88 puts = 3.53
4. Sold qqq 3/22 80 puts = 1.20
5. Sold qqq 3/22 77 puts = .80
6. Bought qqq 3/22 40 puts = .03
Breakeven = 68+20.52 - 1.02 +3.53 - 1.2 - .80 + .03 = 89.06, max loss to 80 (~10% drop) = 1.06, max gain = 4.94.
"Still waiting for that 10-15% drop before buying? Covered Calls are good when the stock is near its high, your expect a possible decline and you want to hold the stock longterm. "
I buy more when the market drops at least 5% which it did in January. I was market weighted. Now I'm perhaps 1.5x the market and still probably somewhere around 75% in cash.
Elon Musk did say that the battery is a commodity. I guess he figured that the Battery was determining the number of cars he could produce and his profit margin. There were comments somewhere about marrying Lithium battery to solar. I 've seen lead acid with solar.
I don't think there is anything we can do about Putin. He is in the process of taking over part of Ukraine and no one can stop him. He is a real son of a bit-ch.
I am out of nat gas but hoping there is another final spike with the cold weather. I got a buy signal on WTI but that is crazy since Iran is about to start dumping oil if it has not already done so. Maybe gold will go up some more based on Putin and I can short it then.
I could kick my self for getting out of TSLA too soon. I bought at 144 and told at 156 or so. I missed 100 point upward move. Stupid stupid stupid me.
Still waiting for that 10-15% drop before buying? Covered Calls are good when the stock is near its high, your expect a possible decline and you want to hold the stock longterm.
Point sourced energy is very interesting. Adds to the national security because it local and does not rely on the network. Drives the Stupid Party crazy because it is subsidized (which will probably be phased out fairly soon) but at the same time it adds jobs and promotes personal independence. It is not pollution free, but most of the pollution is in the manufacture of the cell which is done in China.
Hey have been dropping all kinds of hints here for a long time.
Everybody does things differently. I have never thought of this stock as solar power isn't a big deal where I live but I may look at it after earnings on Monday.
