The D base is much weaker now than in 08.

The R base much stronger.

For evidence of this I submit the 2010 election and the Walker recall vote; the only polls that actually count.

In 08 DS was a freshman at college and remember seeing Obama posters on their windows. Those 08 freshman are now grads, and most of them don't have a job. They do have tens of thousands of student loans. The bloom is off the rose.

Obama needed those votes, just like Howard Dean. He doesn't have those votes.

What he has is voters that lost jobs (parents). Voters that don't have enough equity in their homes to take a loan to pay for their kids college (parents). Voters that are living at home after college because they can't find a job that pays enough to cover the loans they took for college.(08 youth voters).

That is the thing people are not placing into the equation. There are voters that were gung ho for Obama in 08, but in 12 they aren't and to them Mitt is Mitt. They have no motivation to come out on election day.

The ones that will come out are the base. R's want Obama out so they will come out. D's want Obama in, thus they will come out.

It is really going to come down who gets their base out.

Would they be hosting that party if Obama was Gore?
Let's remember Gore has the same personality or energy like Romney. This is not racial. It is warm fuzzy connection feelings.

People tend to think that personal connection doesn't have an impact. That is total BS!

Reagan was the 1st to prove that it does matter against Carter and Mondale.
41 was the next to show that fact against Clinton
Clinton proved it again against Dole.
Bush 43 against Gore and Kerry
Obama against McCain.

Obama against Romney.

People like Obama. Their trust is based on the fact that they like him. The ideology has little to do with it, the fact that they like him has the biggest impact.

Seriously, does any poster believe JayZ or Beyonce shares their wealth, and doesn't use the system to keep more money in their pockets? Of course not! Their donations to charities come on the heels of their accountants advice so they can keep more money for their family. I don't have an issue with that, I would do the same in their position.

I have an issue when they are not being honest and take the position that as Americans we need to do more. Beyonce and Jay Z, here's a hint for you.. donate your court side tickets to a charity. Donate a pr of shoes to YMCA. Heck, take the money you pay for am assistant and give their salary to your favorite organization. Answer your own phone like us mere mortals!

Don't tell me we as a society should do more when your beautiful baby is sleeping in a crib that is equivalent to the avg American salary.

Obama and Romney's supporters are out of touch with us Joe Schmoes.

Romney is at least being honest when he acknowledges the amount of Americans are under water when he attends a 40-50K plate. Obama and people like Jay Z are happy to use the system and criticize it while they use it.

Again, I will 1,000,000,000 support Obama, throw placards in my yard 2 feet about (10 acres) if Obama's tax records prove he didn't take the long form.

The fact is he took the long form, he used the system to keep money in his wallet. A man who is saying re-distribute wealth. but at the same time he used the system for his own wealth.

Think about that for a few minutes.

He is telling Americans we need to share our wealth, but he is not doing the same.

Here in the End-of-the Trail (Willamette Valley) we grow a lot of hops. Luv that smell and flavor. I got some fresh hops at the farmer's market. Just pop one in you mouth like a chew. Offered a hop to my doc yesterday-she said that I should stick to the hops and not the brew (calories) and if I must, do the grape.  I'm happy.  Doctor lives in HoodRiver-It's hard to determine where the foam from the Columbia River ends and the foam from the brewers begin. Very nice place, hip, outdoorsy, beautiful weather and scenery, lots of fruit grown there. Foot of Mt Hood. Weather is a transition between  wet western Oregon and dry eastern Oregon.

I have bought work shirts for husband at Costco. Nice, held up well and in my budget. Many years ago, when I cared more about wrinkles than I currently do, I used to iron his dress shirts with spray starch in a can. For some reaon, they looked nicer throughout day and less wrinkled than if I just used steam. For a while I went to cleaners, till they trashed his collars and new shirts ended up ruined. I normally buy those wrinkle resistant blends and if I plan laundry well, can pull them out of dryer before they are wrinkled. I don't go to Costco much. Too many impulse buys!

 

I've never had a Costco where I live in PA. We have BJ's and Sam's Club only.

Bought many, many plaid shirts over many, many years for H at BJ's--seconds of brand names.

Mitt is known as cheap. Actually could be true. On the other hand, experience has taught me that men who brag about their "ardor" typically have the least .

Warren Buffett hopes that Ann bought, Hathaway's.  I noticed that MR's shirts are always pressed, regardless time of day...If Ann bought a stack, then MR must wear shirt for a few hours, then opens a new packaged shirt. Maybe less expensive than a laundried and press shirt?
