That is the strange thing 2 colleges on the same day, within hours. It is even stranger because UTA and ND would not be a connection. UTA and TAMU, yes because they are both in TX, but ND?
I hate to say it, but both had the same hr, which was 10 a.m. It is strange that the timing was the same, and they were both state colleges.
I am not a conspiracy theorist, but it just seems strange.

My auntie called me today in a panic, worried about my daughter.
She isn't at a campus that was impacted, but the threat of terrorism is that it can strike anywhere, at any time. It is most effective that way, unfortunately.
Al Qaeda likes to announce after the fact, as Romani said, but a true terrorist would probably love the chance to mix it up and make us become even more on edge about threats, real or hoaxes.
You just made me feel so comfortable about my student season tickets to football games. *Thinks about the crowd size against Notre Dame this weekend*
Looks like it was a hoax though. Honestly, I'm far more terrified of a disturbed American student than I'll ever be of terrorists from afar. Statistics back up my worry.
I hope whoever did this is caught and prosecuted to the fullest extent possible. My sympathies to everyone involved for the unnecessary fear caused in already stressful times.
"They" don't seem to read enough American thrillers. I don't particularly want to imagine the unimaginable - it has happened. And maybe we won't see it happen again from and to anyone.
I agree with you, that doesn't fit their MO to call anyone prior to their act of violenc. I also hope that they throw the book at whoever did this. Our kids went and attend big ACC schools.
As I said our DD is at VT, and honestly, they are 1 of only 7 Senior Military Colleges ( SMCs are traditional colleges, not academies), they would be prime picking especially since it is a VA state college, and many military members live in this state. However, even more so because they commission many officers every yr for the military, in the hundreds for the AF, Army, Navy and Marines. Cadets must attend home games.
When 9/11 occurred Bullet was at Ft. Leavenworth as a student for Field Grade Officers. They locked them down that day, but that didn't bother me because I expected that would be protocol. What bothered me was when he graduated in May sitting on a parade ground field our DS (7 yos) nudged me and said: "Mommy, look they don't have enough seats, people are sitting in the trees and on top of the buildings too!"
That was the day I realized how much life changed in 9 months.
Military bases can be locked down easily, trains and bus stations can too, or at least easier than colleges. We can't do that to every single college.
I won't ever say any of this to any of my children. Just like I didn't say anything to our DS2, just their up there to get a closer picture of everything.
Al-Qaeda wins if they stop us from living our lives by paralyzing us with fear. I get that. People asked if I had fear sending DD to VT because of the massacre. I said NO. I made sure she understood that VT took measures to keep her safe, safer than most colleges. Was I worried last yr? Yes, but because she called me and said she was fine and SWAT was escorting her out in the next few minutes. The word SWAT was what worried me.
I only started this thread to illustrate how it is seeping into our own country. It is strange 2 colleges on the same day, around the same time had sick people playing this game.

Having a DD that was evacuated last yr due to a shooter on campus at VT, my heart goes out to these students and parents.
If Al Qaeda has never thought about doing this, they just woke up Americans to make them realize how our colleges are unpotected. I don't think they will find a bomb, but in that article it made me think about how they could change the world.
At the football stadium, executive senior associate athletics director Ed Goble said he was discussing logistics with authorities because the Longhorns needed to get ready to leave for a Saturday football game at the University of Mississippi. Shortly after 11 a.m., while the rest of campus remained almost entirely deserted, Goble said police had given football players permission to go into the athletic complex to pack for the game.
These stadiums hold 50-60K people. Just imagine if they did do this, and had it set for 3 colleges hosting FB games.
It is scary to think that next time the threat is not a threat and instead of 90 minutes warning they give 30 minutes or worse yet 0!
