Laguna is beautiful but yeah, it's crowded now. Hip artists have kind of invaded the place. I went to the Sawdust Festival last year - kind of fun, but really expensive stuff!
Hermosa is a hop and skip from me. :) East LA isn't quite as nice.
Not a lot of surfing in Michigan, I would imagine.
Ha. Yeah because I have the time and the money for that :p. There's a reason my "mini vacation" was only 3 days. Not even 3 full days!
I lived out in California for a large chunk of 6-7 summers when I was younger... with my grandparents in Laguna Beach (beautiful place before it got really crowded) and with my crazy conservative uncle and his large Catholic family in La Habra Heights and downtown LA when I was really, really young. I've also stayed in Hermosa Beach with my cousin. I've had my fill of Cali for a while haha.
I will go back though, eventually. I miss surfing.
Tornadoes sound far more exciting than being in a Republican Primary hotspot with the way this is going. ha.
Fwiw- it seems like they were not RS supporters. One person called Ricky a religious nutcase. Another group was talking about how Santorum's nomination would be the death of the Republican party. I am not sure if these people were part of the campaign groups, but I did hear a lot of negativity in RS's direction.
The group of people watching the results at the bar were progressively getting more drunk as our meal went on. With it, the negativity (and volume of that negativity) toward RS was increasing. They were speaking highly of Romney so I'm taking a shot and saying it was part of his campaign.
Ah well, I'm back home in lovely Michigan now. Yippie.
That is quite funny. Here you are trying to get away from that, and you ended up in the thick of politics. And on an E&P forum. Face it romani, it's in your blood. No escaping it!
I'm currently on a mini vacation at a resort down in Ohio. Little did I know that a Republican nominee would have campaigners and some of "his people" here. During check in yesterday, I realized that many people were here because of the election.
It's hilarious to me, as this is the one tiny "vacation" I have taken. And of course it HAD to be on election day. My planing... it sucks.
But now that the election results are coming in, all the restaraunts and the water park are nearly empty.
The few people that are wandering around are all glued to the TVs watching the election results.
And fwiw, no I'm not sure who it is. I'm sure if I inquired, they would tell me who they're campaigning for. But that's not really a beast I want to poke because I'm not entirely in the mood for politics on my vacation :).
I just thought it was funny... now back to your regularly scheduled forums as I go to take advantage of empty bars and restaraunts.
