Is this about the show Doomsday Bunkers? I've recently discovered and love the show.
I'm currently looking into graduate programs about Disaster Management. I am heavily leaning towards getting my MPH with a concentration/certificate in Disaster Management.
My dad discovered a love of gardening a few years ago. In the summers, we have enough food that all my parents really buy is meat. I'm afraid to introduce my dad to the idea of doomsday preparation. Because of his accident, his brain gets hooked on an idea and kind of runs away with it.
It's just us. My dad and his brothers are all 5'11" or higher, but they all married short women (except my dad- my mom is 5'9"ish). The U of M cousin is 6'2" (I think) and I'm about 6 even. We have three other females though: my sister is 5'4" (different moms- her mom is short), and then our cousins (who are sisters) are 5'3" and 5'6"/5'7". My U of M cousin's younger brother is supposed to be pretty tall. Our other cousins (4- 2 girls, 2 boys) are all half Asian and young so we're not sure how tall they'll be.

Have the garden already but intend to move it about six hundred miles and add a few Piney Woods strain cows to it, along with something small and sustainable to live in.
Can't say it's anything I have spent any time thinking about. We do have the 250 acre family farm on the market though so I guess we are selling our security.
We talk about sustainability quite a bit - energy, fiscal, protecting environment, etc. When you see people who are actually doing it on their own, they get kind of a bad rap.
Just wondering how all of you are helping to make your world a little safer or more secure in terms of food and water storage, protecting your families, etc.
We live in earthquake land. The risk of terrorism is always a threat, so are things that are out of our hands, such as natural disasters. Right now we are working on putting away an adequate amount of food and water in case we need help through a disaster or family emergency. We are also starting a garden.
