As I've said here multiple times... it will take another 15-25 years to build a "stable" Afghanistan (IMO). That is what we are trying to do, it seems like. That is not what we should be doing.

IMO we should pullout most of our forces, and ditch the COIN strategy, and move to counterterrorism, which would involve some special ops, but mostly intel and UAVs.

LP- What are the odds that they would actually pull us OUT of foreign wars once in office?

My guess would be about as good as Obama's.

I agree, we need to get out. It probably won't happen in MY lifetime let alone during the next term in office.

Can't people learn over time?

Obama didn't learn anything from the failure of borrowing a trillion dollars from our children and throwing it at the economy in 2009. It would be nice if Obama could learn something from his mistakes.

The Perry, Romney, Gingrich,(possibly others) I believe  said that they are for getting out of foreign wars and because we need to  protect US economy, can not afford it and we need to protect the borders.

Where were they 10 years ago? or is it that we taught our enemies a lesson?
