No matter what happens, some analyst will have predicted it.

It is almost as if Wall Street firms had hundreds or even thousands of analysts churning out predictions of every possible outcome. Then the ones that are right are hailed "after the fact".

Almost...

The Nostradamus theory of investing...

The old racetrack "tipster" scam comes to mind.

we are essentially fully invested. Out of bond funds andmostly into balanced funds.

I've tried to time the market and lost.

Gold up on Asian trading ~1%.

I am hoping they tank too, so I can buy some stocks that have gotten past my buy point. There are also some stocks that I think are over valued and I would like to see them tank because I want to short them. The reality is that if stocks go down because no deal is reached, they will go up once a deal is reached if there is actually some long term deficit reduction.

In a way I hope that Monday, July 25, the Markets will tank, really big. I hope it will scare the b'geebees out of those who want to play chicken.

The other part says that since we are mostly retired, we no longer are funding our retirement programs, ... I scared.
