No matter what happens, some analyst will have predicted it.
It is almost as if Wall Street firms had hundreds or even thousands of analysts churning out predictions of every possible outcome. Then the ones that are right are hailed "after the fact".
I am hoping they tank too, so I can buy some stocks that have gotten past my buy point. There are also some stocks that I think are over valued and I would like to see them tank because I want to short them. The reality is that if stocks go down because no deal is reached, they will go up once a deal is reached if there is actually some long term deficit reduction.
