letting things go through and then watching them is a fairly standard intelligence tactic it seems... this shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.

What came first, the guns, the drugs, or the money?

Legalization would at least stop firefights.

But at the expense of incurring other social ills.

kinda silly. Mexico doesn't permit certain types of gun sales.
I wonder where the cartels got their weapons?
