Ah but the challenge for us is to provide Congressional or  Supreme Court quality medical care to everyone.

I cannot see why that is not a national priority.

Cheaper to nuke the bad guys and their kin and spend our resources on something other than giving them the "freedom" they did not ask for and do not understand.

The expertise doctors are gaining from treating battlefield traumaand the spreading of that knowledge through the medical profession, has probably contributed to the survival of the Arizona congresswoman from the bullet through her brain.  While improvements to medical procedures hardly justify the continuation of these wars, they at least provide the fleeting hint of a reflection of a smudged silverish lining to both the wars and the assassinaiton attempt.  Assuming access to top flight medical care, the ability to keep people alive and have reasonable recoveries is incredible.

The number hit is WAY up. The number who survive is way up.

Kudos to the medics and the evac crews.
