America's definition of high speed rail is trains that go 85 miles per hour on diesel engines. In other words, American high speed rail is slow speed rail. China's definition of high speed rail is trains that can go 200 miles per hour. If it means the Chinese will finally do something to benefit America, I am all for it. Meanwhile, I continue to avoid buying anything made in China.
If there is money to be made at this long term, the Chinese government subsidized companies are going to have a HUGE advantage over the short term obsessed US companies.
