I'm curious what people think of the recent cyberwar thats been going on in response to paypal, visa, mastercard, and amazon preventing wikileaks from using their services. 

Do you think that it will be effective?  Anonymous has taken down quite a few sites for a considerable length of time already.  At peak hours they have about a thousand people DDOSing their target through what they call the "hivemind", which is a botnet that you voluntarily connect to.  Will their efforts provide a significant disincentive for future companies that are considering cutting off ties to wikileaks?
