Well you guys had better take advantage of that empty house. Just think, you could do anything, and get away with it.

Moving is a big commitment. Maybe better to rent something and visit for a few weeks or a month, and see how you like it. And to figure out if DS still wants you around that much!

Yeah, you never know about those falls. Treadmill deaths are incredibly rare, and with nobody watching, seems like a big leap to assume that. There are so many things that can cause people to lose consciousness. My friend's son lost consciousness due to an epileptic seizure (they never suspected he had epilepsy, it was the first time). Thankfully he was at home, on a carpeted floor.

Reading CC, David Sandberg thread: My cousin was walking onto the tennis court and suddenly fell face down. He survived with a blood loss from the skull cut, some serious but temporary motor function loss, three months in rehab, and a very nervous wife. Doctors think he had a ministroke. His first real fall was at my mother's celebration of life when fell on the path.

Still got senior parents watch. But we have a short break. First time in 30 years that we have the house to just ourselves. Fantasizing about moving to Seattle to be near to DS.

Right, it's all Fox News fault. Especially all those blonde women on Fox! Sad.

It's funny, these threads that have a racial component always devolve into the same thing. Many people don't want to talk about things honestly, and it's almost not even worth discussing. I think so much of it is code language for "it's not my fault", and I certainly get sucked into the same pattern. There are so many code phrases/words for, 'All the problems in this communities are the white guys fault. Yours, and your ancestors fault." And I think when people start talking about personal responsibility, taking care of yourself, etc, that's really code language for, "it's not my fault, it's yours." I have this illusion that instead of sniping at each other, that people will look at honest causes (sure, some of them being the white guys fault), and honest fixes. Spending your time blaming it all on the white guy is pretty useless, as far as fixing problems. But apparently it feels good. They will never blame the Democrat run government, and the teacher's union. It's all the white guy banker's fault. I think somebody even blamed Ronald Reagan.

Also, I followed the CC thread a bit. Also so sad.

So sad when people flail around looking to cast blame at the usual targets (Fox News? Mild-mannered posters? That all-encompassing RACiSM? )

It has to STOP. Each and every kid in that school system and his/her parent should read Ben Carson's book, Gifted Hands.(Assuming more than the current number of 16% are finally taught to read at grade level.)

of course, that will never happen, either.

Doing fine...

Glued to the tv too much this past week over this Baltimore thing...literally gave me a headache Wednesday...have been succeeding in leaving tv turned off since then...probably not for much longer, as this thing unfolds all summer long!

it is all so sad and pitiful. Police brutality is an issue, for sure...but this should not Be the focus. I'd like to see demonstrations and protests about the state of public education in our inner cities. REAL education for these kids, and then maybe we'll see change. But of course that blame falls squarely on the shoulders of Democrat-run teacher unions, in Democrat-run cities, so that'll never happen.

And that's why, sadly, it's all a farce.

This is disgusting, what has happened to that community.

They could have been more careful, picking the case to make their point. There are enough unjust shootings of black men by police officers (and actually men and women of many races), that they could have chosen. It's actually kind of shocking when you research it, people who have killed by mistake, incompetence, fear. But this was surely the wrong situation to make a stand on.

Holder now singing the praises of all the "brave law enforcement officers." A little late.

This is on Holder. He has single-handedly destroyed a community, incredible to witness.

As a wise lady they interviewed said: "This is crazy...these kids don't need to be out here protesting, they need to be at home,"

Wrong case for the one he wanted.

More people seem to be focusing on the problems of MB's behavior, and whether it's indicative of the greater problem. That, and wondering why it's considered mainline by Holder's crowd.

When equal time is given to the innocent adults/children slaughtered on the streets of Chicago every weekend, then I'll listen.

The details that leaked out over time suggested there wouldn't be, but...

... the incident took on a life of it's own, with expectations that seem to include rioting in cities half a continent away if he wasn't indicted. Failing that, I'm looking to see some awfully disappointed newsghouls tomorrow morning. Good; they've been basking in the sun of the president they adore for quite a while... a little raincloud won't hurt 'em.
