Last Monday scored couple hundred # of concord grape at local pioneer -county extension demostrationhouse/garden. Shared with neighbor and local tavern. Hopefully,  I can get a half gal of raw milk and some grape jelly in exchange. I am going to make vinegar-wine,, here, is too plentiful and inexpensive. evileye

Went to wine country this weekend, but instead of wine tour, went to whiskey distillery instead. I was the DD, so didn't get a chance sample the wares, but my hubby said it was phenomenally good. I guess this place has only been open a few years, but they are getting good reviews on their product.

Pacific northwesterners really seem to enjoy alcohol. And coffee. Breweries, big and small, distilleries, and wine country which is home to 100 different wineries.

Even the little coffee house by the local library has beer and wine, and not just any types, but good regional microbrews. Not what I expected to find, but kind of charming!

Had a nice wet day on the end of Sept. Now very dry again but State has declared the end of 2014 fire season, I think it may be premature.  Our fruit trees look extremely stressed which will affect 2015. Canadian Geese are back but coming to their wintering grounds  without green grass. Wine maybe exceptional.
