As much as I detest United, I'm not sure they could help this. I would far rather sit in an airplane and wait, than have the pilots feel pressured to fly into severe thunderstorms. Not that they even could, if they shut down the airport. This seems more like a govt money grab, though 1.1 million is peanuts to these guys.
Air Passenger's Rights. We are just cattle. And the more cattle in the plane, more airlines make $$$$. Damn the public relations. Passengers want cheap fares above all else.
