I read the document John Doe linked to. The authors' restatement of Republican objections to Obama and the Democrats is pretty much correct.
But what also shines through clear as sunlight on a cloudless day in the authors' analysis of Republican views is the unspoken, a priori presumption that Republicans, as a group, are all racist.
We expected that in this comfortable setting or in their private written notes, some would make a racial reference or racist slur when talking about the African American President. None did. They know that is deeply non-PC and are conscious about how they are perceived.
They’re so certain in their belief - no, knowledge - that Republicans are racist that one of their conclusions is:
“They are very conscious of being white in a country that is increasingly minority – as Democrats use government to build dependency and therefore also their support with minorities. The race issue is very much alive.
Does the possibility that it has nothing to do with skin color even occur to the authors? No.
It’s just another example of the fact that liberal morality is so narrow that it is beyond the power of liberal cognition to conclude anything but that the views of non-liberals must be, can only be, due to some sort of psychological, personality, or social disorder.

Kinda enjoyed Ted Cruz and Boehner show but the entry fee was steep and the rewards in watching it had chancy rewards even though the end result was predictable.
Our state has/had an state employee pension problem- solution to scale back pension already given and to be given, close tax loopholes, and 4 years ago increased taxes on the wealthy. It is the last item that prevented the unions from complaining too hard on their givebacks.
Liberal altruism tends to exacerbate the exact problem it tries to solve.
These days, being seen as a victim can be useful. You immediately claim the moral high ground. Some people want to help you. Lawyers and politicians brag that they force others to help you.
This turns some people into whiners with little sense of responsibility.
Joe Biden's niece was arrested recently for throwing a punch at a cop. The New York Post says she's addicted to alcohol and pills, but rather than take responsibility for her actions, she blamed them on the "pressure she faces" because her uncle is vice president.
Give me a break. America was founded by people who were the opposite of victims, by people with grit. Overcoming obstacles is the route to prosperity -- and happiness, too.
I had to overcome stuttering to work as a TV reporter. Had today's disability laws existed when I began work, would I have overcome my stuttering problem? Maybe not. I might have demanded my employer "accommodate" my disability by providing me a job that didn't demand being on-air.
Now that [disability] laws exist, it's no coincidence that more Americans say they are disabled.
