The Insurance Industry is the ONLY industry that is guaranteed a profit in that the policy holders are protected from loss of benefits due. Banks are a close second.
It's a sad state of affairs when we judge a government spending spree of other people's money and what amounts to nationalization of an industry in terms of whether or not "I have benefitted" in my pocketbook.

1. DS just changed jobs, and opted to take the "standard" medical prog with the 80/20% split. He has small co-pay premium. He chose Not to do HSA even though he wouldn't have a co-pay premium because he already has a sum of HSA making 0% rate of return. I'm thinking however, in re-examining this for 2014 and have him do the HSA to game the system-he pays my premium (state's insurance pool from a prostate cancer) and I will reimburse him.
2. Yes, I have benefited form Obama stimulus for health insurance (2010-11) in that I can get insurance at an affordable rate. There was a 2 month period where I had to pay $900/mn for health insurance (pre-existing & 60yo+). The state insurance pool is expected end to this year in favor of the "insurance exchange". Indications are that my 2013, $564/mn prem (8% higher than 2012) will decrease for 2014 (80/20 plan).
3. I would love to see Obamacare be killed. Because I want to see the current R's die a painful death.
