So I was going to slam Ann based on the quotes, but then I went back and read the article she wrote. There is a lot to agree with in it. Though, I don't think it's a worthwhile venture to attack Planned Parenthood, as they are the ones trying to prevent unwanted pregnancy, and to pretend it's purely a big moneymaking industry is disingenuous. And unlikely people are going to wait until marriage to have sex. So disagree with her on those issues.
But, I do think that we should try to do whatever we can to discourage single parenthood, particularly for young women. Though I know some women who have done it fantastically, and of course not everyone has a choice, but many people do. And single parenthood is the #1 route to poverty. They should be singing that fact out loudly.
Ann Coulter often ruffles feathers of both political stripes. Yet whatever you think, she is at least willing to voice her opinion and not waiver on her beliefs. That being said, her latest column provides some interesting insight as to what should be shameful activity and the true double-standard that exists.
Coincidentally, Planned Parenthood happens to provide reproductive health care! Liberals act as if gun owners, soda-guzzlers and smokers are innocent victims of the gun, food and cigarette industries, but the $542 million-a-year birth control industry is a quarry of angels.
It’s only a “shame-and-blame game” when liberals secretly approve of the behavior they pretend to oppose.
They just say they’re against “shaming” and then go back to shaming gun owners, non-recyclers, smokers and “Big Gulp” aficionados – while subsidizing illegitimacy.
