Most airlines have emergency information note cards in the seatbacks of every seat.

Not so much for the Storm of the Century, though.

Having read some of the closed captioning on my screen recently when someone inadvertently changed the settings on my tv, I can absolutely see why having an interpreter would be useful in this situation. Context is important, too. Hard to read lips on a screen, much easier in person.

Perhaps we should have Signers on airliners for the mandatory safety announcement and incase the pilot needs to say, "Hold On and be sure your diaper is secured" evileye

She was great! We actually had the volume turned down, so we were mostly watching her and giggling at what we thought she might be saying. It could have been rather pornographic, actually. Thought it would be great for a SNL skit. I usually just ignore the interpreters, but she has so many facial expressions, it was interesting.

We were wondering how it would go if she was signing for Chris Christie, when he was ranting at people for not evacuating. It would have been hilarious.

I could watch her sign every day. She has the best expressions. She is a gem!
