I think you are right, CNN and MSNBC may feel pressure to do this because of their ratings, thus revenues are dropping faster than they can afford.
Or the cynical person in me says that management has said to them this race is really close and if Romney wins we can see all of those 1 on 1 interviews go to Chris Wallace and Bret Baier, just like Obama has given them to NBC in the past. I think Romney is smarter than to do that, but who knows.
I haven't tuned into MSNBC in a long time because honestly I can't stomach the rhetoric anymore. For a group that loves to point out how right leaning Fox is, I have to say their tilt is just as bad, if not worse.

I also heard Jonathan Capehart say that there were more minority faces in the actual convention audience than the impression given on television.
Wolf Blitzer and Anderson Cooper have exhibited recent random acts of journalism also.
I think the audiences at CNN and MSNBC are tanking so much their "journalists" must have been directed to throw a bone to Conservative Neanderthals once and a while.

MSNBC host Chuck Todd asked the co-chair of the Democratic party's convention, L.A. mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, why there are more Republican women and Hispanic governors:
"Let me ask you though, this one question, why is it that the Republicans have elected more women governors and have two Hispanic governors and the Democrats don’t?," asked Todd. "Don’t have as many women governors and don’t have Hispanic governors, why do you think that is?"
Matthews and Maddow must be ticked at Todd right now! How dare he go off the reservation! Didn't he read the memo, R's are anti-women and anti-minority!
OBTW, if you want the response form Villaraigosa, here it is:
"It’s true, they may have more governors but we have a much broader field when you look at all of the elected officials."
In other words, uh. um, I have no real answer. AM I BEING PUNKED, IS THIS FOX NEWS?
Chuck Todd, I hope you have your resume current!
