DS (CMU'06) had to go to a foreign school to get his MS-CS. His roommate (UCB'06) also had to go to same foreign school and in the same graduate program. The US colleges wanted $$$$ for getting a MS degree. UToronto gave them scholarships and 'free' health insurance.
