Your last comment, is well, a poor reflection on you.

I'll take that as a badge of honor coming from you, Celtic.

Hmmm....interesting...If it had been Bush (or any of the stable of hopefuls running for the Republican nomination) who had mouthed these exact same words to this exact same person, under these exact same circumstances, the alarmists here would probably have speculated that he was just blowing smoke up Medvedev's ass, mollifying the Russians into a false sense of security. If you already believe The President is a terrible threat to national security, a closet Muslim hell bent on America's ultimate destruction, it's not likely you'll be inclined to consider there might be other ways of interpreting what Obama said to the Russian President. But...Whatever....

Have any of you reached orgasm yet?biggrin

By virtue of the national debt PBO has mounted, which is indeed a threat to our security, then yes PBO is threatening our security.

"I am with busdriver, it makes me wonder what is his actual plan. I agree about him not being different than any other politician, but it is a sad statement to state that I don't trust any politician as far as I can throw them."

Whatever he feels or plans has been outlined in his books.  He hasn't veered from them at all.

Then he should place himself in the third person, plural, as does QE.

Putin isn't a novice in American politics. He oughta know that there is 7 more months until Nov, and a lot of things can change.

longprime, he is clearly stating after "I" will have more flexibility. I don't think he ever had the thought he may not be President, because IMPO, he could have said this is an election yr., after the election we will discuss it.

I am with busdriver, it makes me wonder what is his actual plan. I agree about him not being different than any other politician, but it is a sad statement to state that I don't trust any politician as far as I can throw them.

I kinda think that the Pres is repectful that he may not be the next President. You wouldn't want Obama to promise and commit the USA to something that the next President couldn't stand behind, would you?

Kind of makes you wonder what his actual plan is for this issue, and many others....after he gets elected again. I wonder if the truth is what he advocates now, what he advocated before the election, or if it's something altogether different.

Not that I think he's necessarily different than anyone else whose first priority it is, is to be re-elected, but I wonder what his actual intentions are.

Another example of him showing weakness and no being a leader. He'll give the candy away once he's re-elected. 'Here ya go Vlad, you can have anything you want and I won't do anything you don't want me too!'

http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/obama-russia-after-my-election-i-have-more-flexibility_634473.html

President Obama: "On all these issues, but particularly missile defense, this, this can be solved but it’s important for him to give me space."

President Medvedev: "Yeah, I understand. I understand your message about space. Space for you…"

President Obama: "This is my last election. After my election I have more flexibility."

President Medvedev: "I understand. I will transmit this information to Vladimir, and I stand with you.

Not a shocker from a political game perspective, but it does make one wonder what other flexibility issues he will iniatate after his election.
