But do we need Laws enacted by the legislature?

Are the laws restricting commerce as the politics say?

I don't text and drive.  I have been in a car and texted - usually at an exceedlingly long stop light, and it's usually a quick one word answer.  Still - it's not a good thing to do, even if you are in a stopped car if you are behind the wheel.

It's so easy to be distracted by a million things going on in the car!  I was in traffic the other night - carpool lane.  We had slowed down to a stop and the lady in the lane to my right was texting!  Arrgh!

Even talking on the phone can be enormously distracting and even more dangerous than drinking and driving.

Incredibly sad and inexcusable.  Even w/o a ban, why do people continue to use their phones while driving? NOTHING is THAT important, nothing.

Timely release of this study: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/california-politics/2012/03/driver-cellphone-ban-saving-lives.html

However, I see people on their phones talking/texting all the time, everyday, multiple times a day.  So who actually put their cell phone down in CA?  Me!

I read about the girl from Idaho.  She was texting every 90 seconds while driving 80 mph.
