The problem was that the 1%ers didn't have faith in the American system. The representatives of the 1%er's said that we will back the American System, else the 99er's fail. And if the 99er's fail, you the 1%er's have zilch.
The worse blowback is that some MOC gets some heat or lose their reelection. But there's always another dummy that you can front.
You don't have to believe me, but you know its true.

You do believe this deep in your heart.
I gotta call out my emoticons to root for this thread.

Hard to forget those heady days, what with all the sweaty and breathless claims that if the Feds didn't indemnify everyone, from homeowners to banks to car makers, we'd all be cooking weiners over garbage can fires.
There were some people though, saying "let GM go through bankruptcy" and the "hedge fund guys go out the window".
Hard to say who was right but we can all be thankful Corzine got to continue his charitable work, not to mention the fact union giving wasn't impacted much.
Not all bad, though: we got that neat little combustible car from GM, the one you can BBQ on after the accident.
And yet, when the Tea Party raised the same issues of an out of control, fiscally irresponsible government, they got called racists by many on the left. Because certainly, a protest about Washington must mean the current President and his skin color.
It is interesting. As I said at nearly the beginning of the Occupy Wall Street thread, it's essentially the same argument. One side believes the blame lies with Wall Street. The other side blames the Federal Government.
