While all you haters are wishing for Pelosi to fall on the tracks in time for Xmas, ya'll might consider there's a plurality of voters in her district that think she's just swell - not to mention all the congresspeople that elected her to be the face of the house democrats.
No one so addled they're not loved by anyone would be the thing to remember here.

Yes, but she has been very silent lately, and JMPO if Newt is the R nominee that won't help at all.
Not trying to divert the thread, but IMPO, Obama will be re-elected because of anti-Newt vote.
The man is insanely smart, but I do not see the Independents going to him with not only his personal baggage, but how he left Congress.
If it comes down to Newt VS Obama, I will not vote for either, because for me I couldn't hold my nose for either as I cast the vote. I could hold my nose for Mitt. As I have stated my favorite is unlikely (Huntsman).

I want Pelosi's retirement as my Christmas gift next year -- as a result of our taking back the Senate and the White House. Until then, she is my BFF because there is nothing like tying Obama to her to bring out conservative voters.
I maybe incorrect, but didn't he also place his partner at one of the F & F's in a high position?
I heard Brit Hume yesterday talking about his decision, and found his comments interesting.
Barney for many yr was in control of the Banking committee because Dems held the house, but now he has less power and it may be he believes internally that the R's will keep the house next yr, and thus, he will still not have true power in his mind.
Interesting premise.
I highly doubt he would not be re-elected, even with the Fannie and Freddie issue, but maybe it is he doesn't want to wait 3 more yrs before he has control again.

good. this guy contributed hugely to our current economic mess
Frank stated, "These two entities [F&F] ...are not facing any kind of financial crisis ... The more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing."
In 2003, Frank also stated what has been called his "famous dice roll":"I do not want the same kind of focus on safety and soundness [in the regulation of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac] that we have in the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and the Office of Thrift Supervision. I want to roll the dice a little bit more in this situation towards subsidised housing."
In July 2008, Frank said in an CNBC interview, "I think this is a case where Fannie and Freddie are fundamentally sound, that they are not in danger of going under. They’re not the best investments these days from the long-term standpoint going back. I think they are in good shape going forward."
Good riddance. He was one of those who caused the financial crisis but was too much of a wimp to admit it. I would have had more respect for him if he had told the truth.
