as recently as 2008, GE's income was mostly from nonmanufacturing, financing/money endeavors. That's a lot of money that still needs to be written down.

tax code should be 1 page. On the plus side, I guess GE employs a lot of people to keep their records and fill out 57000 pages of forms.
