You hit the nail on the head, Razorsharp. The Tea Party folk have demonstrated that they are entirely colorblind. For them, it's all about the ideas.... and, to paraphrase the great one, the content of one's character.
The libs on the other hand are the most race obsessed people on the planet. To them, all those white cracker types in East Tennessee are obviously cheering Cain on because they are steeped in racism.
Falsely accusing people of racism is racism. Penn is a racist.
Cain is the Tea Party favorite because his policies match their political preferences. If Cain where white or Hispanic, he would remain the Tea Party favorite.
Melissa Harris-Perry is on MSNBC right now talking about her piece in The Nation in which she explains that if white liberals abandon Obama in the 2012 election, it means that they have held him to a higher standard than they would have a white president.
He throws some darts, he occasionally hits the mark. Does he have a bet-the-house finger on the pulse of liberalism? Does he speak for all liberals? No.
Does Sean Hannity speak for all conservatives? Please tell me he doesn't.
Yes, they may like Herman Cain, but Cain likely won't be the Republican nominee. Not nominating Cain wll prove once and for all that all Republicans are racist, not just the Tea Party people. I kid you not. Chris Matthews said it on his show. So no out there! Suck it up, people.

Calling it “the get the ‘N’ word out of the White House party,” Penn said that the tea party is a “problem” and a “distraction” for President Barack Obama.
“If you ask a representative of the tea party, OK, Social Security, socialist, get rid of it? They're going to get very confused," he said. "At the end of the day, there's a big bubble coming out of their head saying, you know, can we just lynch him?”
Penn said he will “very likely” vote for the president's re-election, explaining that “Barack Obama is as capable of being a great president as anybody that we've got walking.”
Making a movie reference, Penn went on to say, “I would love to see Barack Obama be Bulworth. I'd love to see what I've always wanted to see, somebody run as a one term president and show me that people aren't stupid. They do care about each other. And when he does the right things and takes on the controversies, he's going to win the next election.”
