A NJ judge just ruled that his pension legislation as it applied to the judiciary violates the NJ constitution which reads in part-said the increased health benefits and pension contributions that went into effect run counter to a provision of the state Constitution that specifically prohibits the reduction of judges’ and justices’ salaries during their time in office.
There's a limit to how many votes you can buy with your own money, longprime. Helps to have an organized effort behind you, but not necessarily lobbyists.
My main issue is spending, hope. Maybe Romney has a history of cutting it but whatever it might be, his attempt at health care reform kind of knocks the bottom out of it.

Romney promises he will repeal the Affordable Health Care Act. I don't think he'll be able to back down on that one. That's a pretty big deal, I think.
Are you a Perry supporter, Catahoula? I thought he seemed very detached at tonight's debate--almost as if he's given up already, or really doesn't want the nod.
I thought Cain did very well tonight; I noticed a very warm/fuzzy aura between him and Romney.
Fingers crossed!

Romney could pay off the lobbysts with his own money; He does't have to beholden to anybody.
I for one am glad I got a Mormon urologist. Doesn't drink, smoke, or use caffeine. I want a steady hand when he's down in the neather parts.
A Mormon President would be pretty cool too. Food in the panty, emergency funds, adequate insurance, obedient kids. and believe that the Native Americans are the new chosen people.
Romney is going to end up being deep-fried by the NYT, WaPo, and all the networks, - the same ones that have been pushing him as the nominee - as soon as he's a lock.
Why bother voting for a new moderate, when you can let the guy who started the job finish it? And the fact they both think alike as to an ulimited expansion of the commerce clause won't even begin to differentiate them either.
After the trinity of the mainstream media runs off the evangelicals with obsessive naval-gazing about Mormonism, Romney will end up beholden to the same establishment Republicans that dependably spend like Democrats, when they've negotiated the lease on their seats.
Assuming he wins, look for the same old, same old, and four years... no renaissance.

Can't be Romney/Christie because that would mean two moderates. Many Tea Party types are already ticked off that Romney is presumed to have a lock on the nomination. Romney/Cain - yep, I'm feeling that tingle too....
That would surprise me Cartera. Don't know why, because I'm very skeptical of what comes out of any politicians pie-hole, but I beleive Christie when he says he's going to complete his term as gov.
Romney/Cain or vice-versa
To paraphrase an air head pundit, 'that would send a tingle up my leg'
Oregon's state employees will in 2012, have to pay a bit extra if they smoke or grossly overweight (Chris) in exchange they will only have to pay 5% of the premium as a copay plus the $100 annual deductible and no wage increases.
I am not one to bash anyone for weight. Lord knows I have struggled over the years with it.
I would worry having anyone in office who is so heavy - there is so much stress that is a factor for any president, but the added weight is a higher risk factor for him.
Perhaps his cholesterol and triglycerides are where they should be, but he looks like he is at great risk for a heart attack.
I knew a politician who had a pretty big build. Christie kind of reminds me of him, a little bit. Four months after assuming higher office this other man died of a brain tumor. I don't think anyone saw it coming - most people would have assumed the weight was a much more dangerous factor, but he had a completely different health issue.
Razor- I hope the governor is able to gain control of his weight. He is clearly a loving husband and father and his weight may sooner or later have a negative impact on both. I have a friend whose spouse works for the Lt Governor so they attend events that leads them to interact with the governor and he tells me in person the governor is huge. It is a serious concern.
The president should stop smoking if he has not yet done so.
I love Christies politics but he is not a good role model when it comes to weight. Obama on the other hand is an excellent role model for African Americans (and other males as well). He is married and appears to be an attentive father. Having many many more married and attentive African American male parents would transform America like nothing else.
Maybe he's waiting for 2016, working from the assumption that Obama will probably be reelected (if narrowly). Eight years under a Democratic Presidency will certainly trigger the shift back to The Right in the Presidential cycle (notice that it basically shifts every eight years). If he maintains his current level of polling popularity, and looses fifty to eighty lbs., he could look pretty strong as the Republican nominee.
He is an excellent politician and has done some good things but not enough to match the hype. If the company goes to court they win the snooki tax break but it made for good politics. NJ is not seeing any real economic improvement and he is far from truthful. He has been caught not telling the truth in several instances.
Governor Chris Christie isn't running for President. He is a former US Attorney. I wish he would run. He is much better than any of the Republicans and certainly better than No Jobs Obama.
