Although I do eat "game" when I am fortunate enough to have access, this story leaves me feeling a bit nonplussed.
The athletic rivalry thing makes this a little bizarre. One envisions this becoming a "trend" with Kentucky fried Falcon or Seahawk, roast Panther, or grilled Dolphin (watch out Flipper!).
Any teams named for endangered species?
And as for anthromorphic mascots, the pre-Christian Celts did have...nah.. don't want to go there.
