The story deepens...the neighbor did indeed place a service call, but now the Cable providers are here and state they are the 1st to respond to the order.
He did state they work 24/7, but whoever was out here did not fix the issue and that is why they are back out here now. They are going box by box up the street which is 1/2 mile long, or 1 mile both ways. Strange that the guy last night only looked at one box and the provider stated they have no record of being on our street when I called.
I am being paranoid, I know!

Did Bullet actually get close enough to get a look at the guy? The number of the truck? If so, I would call the cable company and give that information to be on record. If the guy wasn't where he was supposed to be for whatever reason, his employer needs to know that. Also, if he got close enough to see see Bullet, I would bet your property will be last on his list. You may actually be more safe now than less.
We have 2 dogs. Boxer and ****er spaniel...irony the boxer would scare anyone way due to her voice, and the ****er wouldn't scare a soul...however the boxer would lick the robber to death and the ****er would maul them.
I am concerned because our homes are all on 10 acres, we are close because the way the lots are (run deep not wide), but still it feels weird.
Bullet thinks that maybe they were stealing cables. As I was writing this he called me and said he was now on your train of thought.
We are now contemplating calling the police to report suspicious activity because maybe this has occurred else where in our county. In our area for about a 6 mile radii, every development is mandated by the county to be on 10 acres (urban sprawl). Maybe this is something more than just a 1x time thing.

It sounds like he was casing the house, it really does. The cable thing was just a cover. He wasn't planning on someone coming out and seeing what he looked like.
Last night at 10:30 I see a flashlight in front of our house, watch them hovering around for about 10 minutes.
Bullet goes out to the street and the guy states that he is doing routine maintenance for cable provider, he immediately leaves after Bullet approached him. He was driving the company's truck with their LOGO all over it.
Called the provider this A.M and they told me that no, they only do routine during business hours, and there was no emergency report for your area in our system.
Now my mind is racing what in G earth would anyone want to do regarding a cable box? Any ideas? Can they hack into anything from the cable box on the street?
