The Republican claim that they are interested in reducing the deficit is once again exposed as a hollow charade. First, they claim that no law they pass can increase the deficit-- except it's just dandy if they drive up the deficit by cutting taxes for millionaires (or cutting taxes for anyone).
But, inconveniently for them, the Obama health plan actually does cut the deficit, by various means including Medicare cuts. So repealing Obamacare would increase the deficit, which they say they don't want to do, and which they have enacted the ridiculous CUTGO rule to prevent. Hey no problem. It's OK to increase the deficit by repealing Obamacare, apparently.
I vote Political Grandstanding. Boehner is throwing the Tea Partiers a bone.
Does it matter? It's a waste. Even if it does manage to pass both the House and Senate, it will be vetoed by Obama and we will be in political deadlock, as per usual. They need to work together to get **** done instead of trying to be simply a roadblock (I am referring to BOTH sides). It is ridiculous to waste resources on something that will fail, one way or another, when we have so many other things we need to focus on right now. If they want to repeal, they should do it at a time when they know it won't fail- such as 2012 if Obama gets voted out.
