I have a sixteen year old daughter and a 20 yo daughter and both of them feel the media is insane when it comes to the way they portray teenage sex.

The sixteen year old, who is not yet dating, says she won't get involved because boys expect things because of TV that she isn't getting involved in.

The 20 year old, in a serious long-term relationship, says she can't believe how ridiculous it is and how much pressure they put on girls in TV.

Hollywood has ruined dating.

I don't think it is a chicken-egg situation.  My experience was much different.  Boys expectations and our expectations were much different.  As a parent, fighting hollywood and disney has been a pain, from the clothing issue on.....they are preposterous.

Is this a case of art imitating life or the kids imitating the art? Chicken, meet egg. Egg, meet chicken.

I saw this in the am and hadn't gotten around to posting it. Thanks!

A study conducted by the Parents Television Council (PTC) has found that Hollywood is obsessed with sexualising teenage girls to the point where their participation in sexual situations is higher than that of adults.

What do you think?
